olivier is a research-based artist +writer and archives worker. They speak Cantonese at home with their demonic cat. Their practice is rooted in the ephemerality and the anarchival in queer and trans theory, and ufology. They toy with poetics and semiotics, caress languaging and linguistics, draw with speculative projects, artists' books, videos, performative lectures, happenings, surveys. and lead a secret mail art practice. olivier is doing an MFA in Studio Arts, and holds an MA in Visual and Critical Studies, and a BF in Painting and Art History. Born and raised in British-Hong Kong, they are now temporarily floating in the rivers of Chicago after some adventures in the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean. For the past decade, their time-machine has been stuck in this dimension. So ti goes.


an emard is an interdisciplinary artists seeking to locate the myth-making and world-building potentials of queerness. They were born into a working-class family in suburban Chumash Land / Ventura, CA and spent their formative years navigating queerness in the shadow of the Catholic Church and the light of lemon orchards, asphalt. and the Pacific Ocean. emard now resides on the unceded homelands of the people of the Council of Three Fires / Chicago. LI. an emard has exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Vermont at venues including Steve Turner Gallery, Block Museum, Usdan Gallery, Kibum MacArthur, Weatherproof, Some Clouds, among others. emard is a member of the Chicago Artist's Coalition 2024-2026 Bolt Resident Program. They received an MFA from Northwestern University in 2022 and a BA from Bennington College
in 2015.


Arnold J. Kemp (b. 1968) has been concerned with artists, writers, curators and educators working in art spaces founded by and in support of other artists for almost four decades. His artistic work and writing is rooted in research and process, and engages ideas about the permeability of the border between self and the materials of one's work. Arnold J. Kemp's works have been exhibited nationally and internationally, and are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, the Portland Art Museum, the Schneider Museum of Art, the Tacoma Art Museum. The Manetti Shrem Museum of Art, the Hammer Art Museum, The Frances Lehman Lob Art Center at Vassar and The Joan Flash Artists' Book Collection. Recent exhibitions include LESS LIKE AN OBJECT MORE LIKE THE WEATHER, Neabauer Collegium, University of Chicago; TALKING TO THE SUN, M. LeBlanc, Chicago; STAGE. Born in 1994• Lawrence M. joined Arts of Life to begin developing his studio practice. Working primarily in drawing. painting, and collage, he engages with a process and aesthetic reflecting his everyday interests - gathering imagery of animals, watching cartoons, and a spontaneous layering of diverse materials and ideas. Lawrence also enjoys traveling with his family, spending time with friends, and playing basketball, shot put, and a variety of other sports. Among other exhibitions, his work has been included in Duck Feet guest curated by Ricardo Partida. If a Mountain Could Love guest curated by Cody Tumblin, and Dance Dance Dance guest curated by Tyson Reeder. Justin Nalley (b. Detroit. MI) is a visual artist and poet based in New York. Nalley has exhibited throughout the US, including Perspectives Gallery (MIAD). The American Institute of Thoughts and Feelings (Tuscon), LVL3 (Chicago), and most recently at Westbeth Gallery in New York City. He received an MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and a BA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago.


Jenn Smith lives and works in Chicago. She received her MFA from SAIC in 2016 and her BS from Illinois State University in 2001. Hyeseul Song is a South-Korean Chicago-based artist whose practice utilizes the intersections of sculpture, photography, and digital media. She acquired a Bachelor of Architecture from SungKyunKwan University in 2021, followed by a BFA in Sculpture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2023. Her works explore the areas where the built environment and nature overlap, where the inherent qualities of form and material intertwine, invoking an emotional attunement with the surroundings.


This is Chicago. This is Julian Van Der More. He's a man with very special interests. Some men love food, not Julian. Some men love liquor, not Julian. Weatherproof is a contemporary art gallery/curatorial umbrella founded in 2022, with an office space (Annex/Cointelpro) in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood, and a vitrine (Hole) in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. The gallery's program focuses around allowing artists opportunities to present ambitious and challenging work in a site-responsive and collaborative manner, alongside exhibition-specific ephemera.
